On Thursday 5/14 strating at 5:30pm City Beer Store will be hosting an AleSmith flight. The three beers they will be tasting are IPA, Anvil and X. This is a great brewery that is hard to find up this way. Come out and celebrate American Craft Beer Week.
So I made the trek up to the city last night to try Deschutes Mirror Mirror on tap and let me tell you this beer was well worth the drive. The beer tasted like a cross between a pale ale and a barely wine. The good news for all of you that did not get to try this beer last night the guys from Deschutes Brewery said that bottles of Mirror Mirror will be at City Beer within two weeks and this beer will age for up to five years in the bottle. So pick up a few extra bottles and compare them over the years. As a bonus last night I was able to try Russian River Brewing Rejection. Rejection is a 6% Belgium brown and fantastic.

If you are a fan of Allagash beers and I am there are two events Thursday night in San Francisco. The first is at City Beer Store and the second is at Toronado’s. The event at City Beer Store starts at 5pm and ends at 7pm. The event will have a bottle signing from the founder of Allagash Rob Todd and feature special release bottles for sale. Then you can head on over to Toronado’s from 7pm to 10pm where there will be draft specials and another chance to meet Rob Todd. Come on out and meet the founder of Allagash and enjoy some of his fine beers Thursday night in San Francisco.
On Tuesday 4/28 City Beer Store in San Francisco will be having Deschutes Night. The most exciting part of Deschutes night will be the unvaling of Mirror Mirror on tap for the first time in Northern California. Mirror Mirror is part of the breweries reserve series witch includes The Dissident and The Abyss. For this beer they doubled up their flagship beer to barly wine strength with a strong malt base and a light citrus hop aroma (11.5%abv and 30 IBU’s).
